We hope this newsletter finds you well and brimming with wanderlust! We're excited to share our incredible journey to Burgundy, France, during our September 2023 retreat. It was an unforgettable experience filled with genuine encounters, breathtaking landscapes, and a taste of Burgundian culture that left our hearts brimming with joy.
Burgundy: A Whirlwind of Authentic Delights
Our September 2023 Burgundy retreat was a sensory journey that delighted the soul. From the moment we set foot in this picturesque region, we were immersed in a world of authenticity.
The manor, an ancient wine castle built on the remains of a feudal mound, and refurbished tastefully in 2015 was the perfect location to discover all the gems Burgundy has to offer. A stay at the "Manoir", with its characteristic blue shutters offered more than enough privacy and truly felt like a homecoming.
Highlights of Our Journey:
Wine Tasting: Burgundy is renowned for its exquisite wines, and we were treated to private tastings at renowned vineyards. Our participants got to savor some of the world's finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays while learning about the intricate art of winemaking. We even got our own private tasting within our cellar at the Manoir.
Culinary Adventures: The heart of French cuisine beats in Burgundy, and we savored every moment. From hands-on cooking classes with local chefs to dining at charming bistros, we experienced the region's culinary traditions firsthand.
Historical Treasures: Burgundy's history is woven into its charming towns and medieval architecture. We explored small towns and quaint villages, museums, gaining insight into the region's rich heritage.
Local Encounters: The warmth and hospitality of the Burgundian people left an indelible mark on us. We engaged with locals, shared stories, and experienced life as they do. We learned to sing the famous Burgundy song also called "ban bourguignon" and celebrated one of our client's birthday alonside other French locals.
Natural Beauty: Burgundy's landscapes are nothing short of breathtaking. Through country road, and vineyards, we witnessed the hard work of the "vendangeurs" in the peak of harvest season and the start of changing colors on the rolling hills.
Looking Ahead to September 2024
We're thrilled to announce that due to the overwhelming success of our September 2023 retreat, we're already planning our return to Burgundy in September 2024! The memories we made this year were nothing short of magical, and we can't wait to create new ones with you.
