Villa Saunières
This 19th century villa has a total living surface of 5,813 sq ft.
The villa is located at the heart of beautiful Southern Burgundy in the small village of Saunières.
The small road along the river Doubs leading to the Villa is a quiet road used by locals.
Villa Saunières offers 6 luxurious and spacious bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms, a fitness room, sauna, steam-room, a welcoming living-room and dining-room both with a fireplace. The swimming-pool and its terrace are the perfect location to relax and reminisce about our day around a delicious and authentic outdoor dinner. Join us on our immersion retreat.

Start your trip before with access to our newsletter where you will learn about France and the Burgundy region. If you wish, sign up for our online lessons to learn some French/ or refresh your French.
Transportation to and from Dijon train station to Villa Saunières
6 night retreat (Friday to Thursday)
Your room (see pricing options) and full access to house, pool and grounds
Daily French breakfast, lunch and dinner
Gourmet French dinners cooked on site or at local restaurant
Daily French lessons adapted to your level
Daily excursions or onsite cultural activity/workshop* (ie : wine tasting, Farmers market, French cooking lesson, truffle hunting, historic city tour, private shopping tour)
Transportation to and from excursions

All excursions, cultural activities, lessons are included in the cost, but are not mandatory.
6 en suite bedrooms
Stylish and fitted with your comfort in mind, all 6 bedrooms have their own full private bathroom.
Living quarters
Enjoy gourmet French meals in a 19th century dining room, complete with original tiles and fireplace.
You will appreciate the comfortable lounge with its Chesterfield style sofas and decorated ceilings "à la française".
Wellness area
A separate facility dedicated to your indoor leisures and wellness includes: a dry sauna and a steam room, a fitness room equipped with two types of exercise bikes, rowing machine and weights.
Relax by the heated outdoor pool and terrace.
Retreat schedule*
FRIDAY
Evening arrival and introductions, followed by a gourmet dinner at Villa Saunières.
SATURDAY
Breakfast at the villa. Late morning guided tour with truffle hunting specialists and their dogs who will introduce you to the world of the truffle and the work of truffle hunting. The walk is followed by a “everything à la truffe” lunch prepared with carefully selected artisanal and locally crafted products. Return to the villa for a French class followed by free time and dinner at the villa.

SUNDAY
Breakfast at the villa followed by a visit to Chalon farmers’ market to select local products for our French cooking class in the evening. We’ll have lunch in Chalon then we will visit the Nicephore Niepce museum dedicated to the history of photography. The evening will be dedicated to our French cooking lesson and dinner with our chef using local products from the market.

MONDAY
Breakfast at the villa followed by a French lesson. Lunch and visit to the beautiful city of Dijon. Guided tour and tasting at a moutarderie where you will learn the process of making real Dijon mustard based on ancestral heritage methods. Return to the villa for free time and dinner.

TUESDAY
Breakfast at the villa followed by a French lesson. Visit to Beaune and local lunch break. Free time in Beaune or optional exclusive shopping for our group at the local clothing store Cléopatre et secotine. Gourmet dinner at the villa.

WEDNESDAY
Breakfast at the villa followed by a French lesson. For lunch discover a local 3 star Michelin restaurant that honors the Burgundy tradition. In the afternoon tour an organic vineyard and winery. During the tasting, discover the richness of the Rougeon terroirs, a unique site in Burgundy, remarkable for the diversity of its granite and limestone soils. Light dinner at the villa.

Breakfast at the villa and departure late morning.
